Airplane information
The airplane we are flying is a Piper Cherokee six manufactured in 1975.
The total airframe time is about 2400 hours with about 600 on the engine
and 100 on the propeller. It is capable of carrying up to seven people
and is powered by a 300 horse power engine. The engine is 540 cubic inch
and is air-cooled and fuel injected. The propeller is a variable pitch
that is adjusted differently for take-off and climb and cruise. We hold
about 84 gallons of 110 octane fuel that allows us to stay airborne
about five and one quarter hours. The cruise speed is 140 Knots or about
161 MPH.
The instrument panel have recently been updated and includes:
BASIC INSTRUMENTS:
Vacuum driven artificial horizon.
Vacuum driven directional gyro.
Altimeter
Vertical speed indicator
Air speed indicator.
Electric turn and bank coordinator
OTHER INSTRUMENTS:

LOAD CAPACITY
The airplane weighs about 2082 pounds empty and can weigh up to 3400
pounds when fully loaded.
Take-off distance at normal temperature and altitude is about 1600 feet
with landing distance about 1200 feet. Normal take-off speed is about 80
miles per hour, climb out is 100 miles per hour and landing is 90 miles
per hour.
