Ralph and William Capuano of Torrington, CT are preparing for "THE FLIGHT OF AMERICA". Their plans are to fly and land at all forty-eight states in seven to ten days. Both are instrument rated pilots. Their plane is a 300 horsepower Cherokee "SIX" equipped with instrument landing systems weather radar, dual GPS, and back up navigation. They are watching for a reasonable weather window in the month of June. Of interest, this flight has never been recorded in the GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS so they plan to document the landings and progress. The planned trip is about seven thousand miles.
The best part is their main goal which is to help the daughter of Ralph's Sales Manager, Gary Jones. Darlene was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on March 9th. She is 25 years old and is married with two children ages 4 and 2.
Ralph, President of Capuano Buick Cadillac GMC and William, President of TEC Control Systems are covering 100% of all the expenses with all donations received going directly to Darlene.
The pilots printed a poster displaying the "Flight of America" showing the 48 airports in the hope that it will be purchased for forty-eight dollars (a dollar a state).
